Three transitional deacons and one permanent deacon were ordained at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception by Bishop Thomas John Paprocki. The ordination ceremony saw Deacon Charles Delano, Deacon Stefan Kaniewski, and Deacon Ryan Kehoe ordained as transitional deacons, while Deacon David Beach was ordained as a permanent deacon. The men made promises to fulfill their roles with humility and dedication, including proclaiming the faith and praying the Liturgy of the Hours.
Deacon Beach expressed his eagerness to serve in his home parish, stating, "I am drawn to all aspects of the diaconate in the ministry of the word, the liturgy and in charity, in communion with the bishop and priests." The transitional deacons will spend the summer in various areas for practical training before returning to seminary for their final year of study.
Deacon Delano shared the profound impact of his internship at Barnes Jewish Hospital, emphasizing how it reaffirmed his vocation through moments of vulnerability and faith.
