Bishop Edward J. Weisenburger | Diocese of Tucson website
The Diocese of Tucson has announced an exciting opportunity for Catholic youth in Southern Arizona. The youth are invited to apply for a pilgrimage to Rome next spring for the 2025 Jubilee of Hope. To be eligible for this once-in-a-lifetime experience, students must be enrolled in high school and actively practicing Catholics in their parish.
Father Manu Franco-Gomez, the Director of Youth Ministry, is spearheading this initiative and is encouraging interested students to apply. He emphasized, "Interested youth can learn more here." The pilgrimage will be an eight-day trip filled with spiritual enrichment and cultural experiences in the heart of the Catholic faith.
Interested applicants are urged to act promptly as "Applications will be accepted until May 3, 2024." In order to be considered, students must have a letter of recommendation from their pastors endorsing their participation in this pilgrimage. Father Manu Franco-Gomez, the guiding force behind this initiative, is enthusiastic about the potential impact of this journey, stating, "Father Manu Franco-Gomez, the Director of Youth Ministry, is leading the eight-day trip and invites Catholic youth to prayerfully consider applying for the pilgrimage."
This pilgrimage offers a unique opportunity for Catholic youth to deepen their faith, connect with peers from different parishes, and immerse themselves in the history and spirituality of Rome. It is an invitation for young Catholics to embark on a journey of faith and discovery, fostering a sense of community and spiritual growth.
