Amanda Wright, D.O., dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine, expressed her excitement over the success of Match Day 2024, stating, “Mission aligned successes seen in Match Day 2024 provide a wonderful and exciting way to celebrate the 8th graduating class of the College of Osteopathic Medicine. We are proud that more than half of students will begin primary care residencies – meeting Indiana and the Midwest’s critical need.”

Among the students, Arielle Coy-OMS-IV shared her confidence in her match at Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis, saying, "I built such a strong rapport and connection with the residents, faculty, and hospital while I rotated through the program as a third and fourth year student. In my gut, this was the program that always felt right for me and when you feel such strong ties to a place, you have to trust the feeling is mutual."

Arthur Equihua-OMS-IV, who matched in the emergency room at Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte, Michigan, credited MU-COM for his success, stating, "Marian has taught me that regardless of how busy you think you are, there is always more work to do. Marian taught me how to do that, and I know that will help me mentally as I begin to juggle the responsibilities of being a first-year resident."

The article also highlighted the distribution of the 141 students into residency programs, with 40% beginning residencies in Indiana and 67% in neighboring states like Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky. The top specialties included Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, and Pediatrics, with top training facilities such as Indiana University School of Medicine, Ascension St. Vincent Health, Community Health Network, Medical College of Wisconsin, and Franciscan Health Network & McLaren Healthcare.

The Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine celebrated its eleventh anniversary with a high success rate of 99% of students being placed in medical residencies, showcasing the institution's commitment to preparing future physicians with a whole person approach to medicine.
