Deacon William Mullaney Remembered as a Devoted Servant of the Archdiocese

Deacon William Mullaney, a deacon of the Archdiocese, passed away on March 17, 2024, at the age of 87. He was ordained by Archbishop Daniel Pilarczyk for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati on September 26, 1998. Deacon Mullaney served the Archdiocese as a permanent deacon for twenty-five years.

"Deacon Bill was assigned to Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Anderson Township, where he served faithfully throughout his entire ordained ministry," said a spokesperson for the Archdiocese.

Deacon Mullaney is survived by his wife, Nancy, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage, their five children and their spouses, thirteen grandchildren and spouses, and four great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Deacon William Mullaney will take place on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Following the Mass, a reception will be held in Heritage Hall at the church. There will be no visitation.

The Archdiocese has requested that the community keep "the repose of the soul of Deacon Bill Mullaney in your prayers, as well as peace and consolation for his entire family."
