Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Tickfaw will be hosting a living portrayal of the Last Supper on Palm Sunday, March 24th, at 7 p.m. The re-enactment of Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting will be free for all to attend.

Director of the production, Virginia Patecek, described the event as a deeply spiritual experience, stating, "Each year, this dramatization is a truly moving spiritual experience. It is as if da Vinci's painting has come to life." She also expressed her awe at the actors' performance, saying, "Seeing the actors pose, especially when we dim the lights, takes my breath away."

Patecek, who has been directing the production since its inception in 1999, emphasized the significance of this event as a way to kick off Holy Week and prepare for Easter. She shared how the idea for the re-enactment came about, recounting a conversation with Albert LeMay, where she was surprised by the willingness of the men in the church to participate, attributing it to divine inspiration.

Since 2009, Lawrence Joiner has been portraying Jesus in the re-enactment, fitting the director's vision for the role. Patecek highlighted the dedication of all involved, noting that despite life's challenges, they continue to return to be part of this meaningful production.

After the re-enactment, there will be a gathering in the church hall where attendees can meet with the cast and enjoy light refreshments and Lenten foods.
