Beloved and esteemed Professor Robert M. Zinman, a prominent figure in the bankruptcy law community, passed away at the age of 92. Professor Zinman's contributions to St. John's Law and the wider bankruptcy community have left a lasting impact on his students and colleagues.
During his 19 years at St. John's Law, Professor Zinman played a vital role in shaping the bankruptcy program, including founding the Bankruptcy LL.M. program and establishing the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review. His efforts also helped in making the Duberstein Competition one of the nation's leading moot court competitions.
Reflecting on Professor Zinman's legacy, Gerard DiConza '94, a partner at Archer & Greiner, P.C., remembered him as a compassionate mentor who instilled confidence in his students. Kristin Going '02 LL.M., a partner at McDermott Will & Emery LLP, credited Professor Zinman with being a driving force behind her career and admired his unwavering enthusiasm for the law.
