The Nebraska Catholic Nurses organization will be hosting a healthcare service project in Lincoln on Saturday, February 17th. This event is open to all nurses and medical providers who are interested in volunteering their time and skills to help those in need.
The morning will kick off with an optional Mass at 9 a.m. in the St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center, located at 329 N. 16th St. in Lincoln. Following the Mass, there will be a street walk with homeless individuals from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. This walk provides an opportunity for participants to engage with the local community and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness.
At 10:45 a.m., the service project will shift to St. Mary Church, situated at 1420 K St. During this time, participants will be providing foot, hand, and nail care to those in need. Additionally, they will be distributing donated supplies and offering prayer and compassion to individuals who may be in need of emotional support.

In order to support this initiative, donations can be dropped off at Holy Family Medical Associates, located at 7121 Stephanie Ln., Suite 105 in Lincoln. The suggested items for donation include hats and gloves, socks, toothbrushes and toothpaste, or monetary contributions.
The Nebraska Catholic Nurses group, which is a member of the Catholic Medical Association, was established last year by Sister Joan Kolbe, M.S., Sister Faustina, M.S., and Dotti Easter of St. Benedict Parish in Nebraska City. Their mission is to provide healthcare services and support to those in need, while also incorporating their Catholic faith into their practice.
