In a recent development, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has made a controversial decision that could have far-reaching implications for the state's abortion laws. The court has claimed to have discovered a "right" to abortion on demand, paid for by taxpayers, throughout all nine months of pregnancy. This decision has sparked outrage among pro-life advocates who argue that it undermines the democratic process and ignores the will of the people.

Katie Daniel, State Policy Director of SBA Pro-Life America, expressed her concerns about the court's decision, stating, "Once again an activist court claims to have discovered a 'right' to abortion on demand, paid for by taxpayers, where no such concept exists. Moreover, they've decided this so-called 'right' exists in such a separate class that the people and their elected legislature are permitted to have no say on one of the most debated issues of our time."

Currently, Pennsylvania law limits late-term abortions to 24 weeks, the start of the third trimester. This restriction was put in place to prevent the kind of horrific practices carried out by infamous abortionist Kermit Gosnell. Gosnell was convicted of delivering babies alive and then cutting their necks in his "house of horrors." The law was instrumental in bringing him to justice. However, there are concerns that the recent court decision could pave the way for a return to the days of unrestricted late-term abortions.

Governor Josh Shapiro and his allies have been at the forefront of this push for expanded abortion rights. They have even gone so far as to redirect state funding from the award-winning Real Alternatives program to abortion businesses. This move has raised eyebrows among pro-life advocates who believe that taxpayer money should not be used to fund abortions.

Additionally, data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health has revealed some troubling trends in the state's abortion industry. Abortion complications have tripled in the last five years, and half of the abortion facilities in the state failed health inspections last year. These statistics raise concerns about the safety and well-being of women seeking abortions in Pennsylvania.

Pro-life advocates and lawmakers in the state legislature are determined to fight against the court's decision and protect the rights of Pennsylvania women and children. They understand the importance of ensuring that proper safeguards are in place to prevent the exploitation of vulnerable women and the loss of innocent lives.

As this controversy continues to unfold, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, a network of over one million pro-life Americans, remains committed to advocating for laws that protect the sanctity of life. They are dedicated to electing national leaders who share their values and promoting pro-life women leaders.

The court's decision has ignited a heated debate about the limits of abortion rights and the role of the judiciary in shaping public policy. It remains to be seen how this issue will ultimately be resolved, but one thing is clear - the fight to protect the unborn and defend the rights of women will continue.
