Reverend Michael G. Woost Bishop | Diocese of Cleveland
The Catholic Men's Fellowship of Northeast Ohio (CMFNEO) has announced the theme for its 2024 Men's Conference: "Experience Jesus in the Eucharist." Set to take place on March 2 at the Holiday Inn in Independence, the daylong event aims to connect participants to the ongoing Eucharistic Revival.
Steve Chrzanowski, the president of CMFNEO, highlighted the significance of the Eucharist, stating that it "is God's invitation to come find him, the only one who can truly fulfill the deepest desires of our hearts."
The conference will feature a lineup of esteemed guest speakers, including Joe Heschmeyer, Father Thomas Blau, and Auxiliary Bishop Michael Woost. Men of all ages are invited to attend the event, which promises to be a day of spiritual enrichment and fellowship.
The day will commence with a continental breakfast and beverages at 8 a.m., followed by the opening of the Adoration Chapel and the conference at 9 a.m. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in the sacrament of confession and enjoy lunch at noon.
Registration for the conference is limited, with a cost of $45 for individual attendees, $40 each for groups of eight or more, $15 for students, and free for religious. Interested individuals are encouraged to register by February 20 to secure their spot. However, if space is available after that date, the cost will increase to $55.
One of the featured speakers, Joe Heschmeyer, is a well-known blogger and staff apologist for Catholic Answers. Heschmeyer, who previously worked as a litigator in Washington, D.C., is currently a religious instructor at Holy Family School of Faith. He is the author of "Who Am I, Lord?: Finding Your Identity in Christ" and resides in Kansas City with his family.
Father Thomas Blau, a native of Cleveland, has a remarkable journey that led him to his religious vocation. After completing a service mission in Honduras and Guatemala, Father Blau pursued a master's degree in theology from Franciscan University and entered the Dominican order. He has since served in various capacities, including preaching in the Diocese of Columbus and being a chaplain for the Knights of Malta.
Bishop Michael Woost, ordained as a priest in 1984, has made significant contributions to the Diocese of Cleveland. He has served as co-director of the diocesan Vocation Office and currently teaches sacramental-liturgical theology at Saint Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology.
