St. Jude Catholic Church in Peoria, Illinois, welcomed their two new Dominican sisters in the church's Aug. 30 bulletin.

Sister Dominica is new to the team and grew up Catholic, actively participating in church activities and attending the University of Detroit Mercy. She worked for two years in construction engineering before answering the call to be a sister.

"My second home growing up was the parish, as I attended grade school there, and my dad is a deacon and my mom was parish secretary," Sister Dominica said in the bulletin. "Coming back to teach at a parish grade school I’ve realized the immense formation I received from the Felician sisters and lay staff at my grade school."

Sister Mary Jordan similarly was raised in a devout home and attended Eastern Michigan University’s Teacher College. Highly musical, Sister Mary Jordan plays a number of instruments and was the director of 40 Days for Life before becoming a sister.

Both sisters will be working at the school and look forward to impacting their students for the Lord.
