In his August letter to the congregation of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Memphis, Tennessee, Pastor Robert Szczechura addressed the ongoing need for improvements and repairs at the church's facilities.
"Everyone of us here, as I’ve previously expressed, make up a family in Christ. One of the most essential roles for the security and health of a family is the provision of resources— especially providing some of the most basic needs," Szczechura said in the letter.
While thanking the Knights of Columbus for their donations and others for their work, time and money given to the repair of the facilities, Szczechura revealed that there is much work still to be done. Even for those who began their faith journey with the Cathedral but have since moved on, Szczechura asked that they consider donating to a needed roof replacement.
"Brothers and Sisters, it is good to be back. I am looking forward to what our future holds and our continued growth," Szczechura said in the letter. "Every worthwhile thing in this world depends upon and can be traced back to the attitudes and efforts of individuals just like you and me."
