This year’s convention of the Canon Law Society of America marks a first, as it will be conducted virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The online conference, the society’s 82nd annual convention, will be held Monday, Oct. 12 through Wednesday, Oct. 14.
“Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in live Q&A sessions with presenters following each presentation, and members will have the ability to participate virtually in the annual business meeting,” the society announced on its website. “Presentations and Q&A sessions will be recorded and available on-demand to paid registrants for two weeks following the three-day virtual event.”
The society’s mission is to “cooperate in the continuous revision and renewal of the universal law of the Church and with the National Conference of Catholic Bishops in proposing new legislation, resolving current legal questions and implementing laws and structures which pertain to the vital life of the Church,” the website explains.
