Sister Lucy Mary Blyskal, CSJ, a faithful Sister of the St. Joseph Convent in Brentwood, New York for 61 years, has passed away.

The Canon Law Society of America (CLSA) posted about her passing on their website. They asked that people pray for her family, friends and the sisters in her community.

Blyskal had been a member of the society for 34 years. She joined after getting her licentiate in canon law from the Catholic University of America.

Blyskal received her doctorate a year later. The CLSA said she was also a part of the team that put together the society's publication, The Canonical Implications of Ordaining Women to the Permanent Diaconate.

Blyskal had been living at the St. Joseph Convent when she passed. A celebration honoring her life will be scheduled for a later date.

Donations can be made in her memory to the Sisters of St. Joseph by mail at 1725 Brentwood Road, Brentwood NY 11717.
