St. John Brebeuf Parish of Niles, Illinois, will welcome parishioners back to celebrate Mass in person on Father's Day weekend, June 20-21, the Rev. Mike Meany said.
"On Father's Day weekend we will return to our regular weekend Mass schedule," the Rev. Meany said, the parish website reported.
Meany wrote in his letter to parishioners on the website that the church places a high value of health and the safety of those coming to the church. He urged those coming to Mass to follow Illinois guidelines, as well as the guidelines laid out by the Archdiocese of Chicago.
"We still advise that the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions stay home and participate through online Masses," Meany told parishioners, the website reported. "The dispensation from Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation continues."
Meany wrote that they would continue to record Mass for those who couldn't attend. Those wishing to attend will need to register online because only 50 people are allowed to be in the church at a time, including those ministering to the faithful. Anyone without a computer can call the parish office at 847-966-8145, to make a reservation.
