The Catholic Health Association continues its free webinar series, "Catholic Ethics and the Challenge of COVID-19," on June 25 with a presentation on ethical challenges to developing treatments and vaccines for the coronavirus.
The Catholic Health Association and Georgetown University produce the webinars on critical ethical issues concerning COVID-19 on consecutive Thursdays from 1-1:30 p.m. Eastern time during June and July, the Catholic Health Association said. The popular series addresses issues that confront health care professionals during the unprecedented health crisis.
James Giordano, Ph.D., chief of the Neuroethics Studies Program, professor, Department of Neurology and Biochemistry at the Pellegrino Center for Clinical Bioethics, will present during the June 25 webinar, the Catholic Health Association reported. His topic will be "Developing Treatments and Vaccines for SARS-COV2: Ethical Challenges to Challenge Trials."
Participants are encouraged to actively engage in discussion via a question and answer . A recorded version of each broadcast will be available for those who are unable to attend the live event.
The program is designed for medical directors, CMOs, CNOs, physicians, nurses, residents, medical and nursing students, ethicists, mission leaders, ethics committees, pastoral care directors, public health professionals and community leaders.format
