Catholic Charities of Philadelphia (CCoP) has named Ms. Ellen Mansfield as its new Director of Philanthropy, effective August 25, 2025.
In her new role, Mansfield will be responsible for developing and executing strategies related to major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, corporate sponsorships, and grants. These efforts aim to support the long-term mission of CCoP in providing care and essential services to residents in the Philadelphia area. She will also focus on maintaining donor relationships and promoting a culture of philanthropy within the organization.
Secretary and Executive Vice President for CCoP Mrs. Heather Huot stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Ellen to our team as our new Director of Philanthropy. Ellen’s expertise in team building and strategic philanthropic engagement is going to be an incredible asset to our mission at Catholic Charities of Philadelphia.”
Ms. Mansfield expressed her enthusiasm about the appointment: “I am grateful to be returning to serve the people in the Archdiocese. It is thrilling to combine my years of raising funds for disability organizations with my volunteer service in various youth, older adult, and basic needs communities.”
Mansfield brings more than 25 years of experience in development, leadership, and institutional advancement. Before joining CCoP, she was Chief Development Officer at KenCrest in Blue Bell where she led fundraising initiatives including a $6 million campaign and managed grant funding strategies. Her previous roles include positions at Ursinus College, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Cardinal Dougherty High School, The Center for Autism, and Melmark.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Ursinus College and an MBA from La Salle University. Mansfield is active in her local parish community as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
Catholic Charities of Philadelphia provides food assistance, shelter for those experiencing homelessness, support for children and families at risk, enrichment programs for seniors, and empowerment services for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
