IRVING, Texas (March 14, 2024) — William Perales has been appointed director of the Saint Ambrose Center for Catholic Liberal Education and Culture. Perales, who previously led the K-12 Classical Curriculum Project, expressed his excitement about the new role, stating, “It has been wonderful to work with K-12 educators around the country over these years and get to know their school communities and culture.”
The Saint Ambrose Center, a part of the University of Dallas, aims to share the university's mission with the broader community through various educational resources and initiatives. Provost Matthias Vorwerk, PhD, highlighted the significance of the center, stating, “The Saint Ambrose Center at the University of Dallas amplifies the educational mission of the university through professional development support for K-12 schools.”
Perales brings over two decades of experience in Catholic education to his new position, having served as a teacher and principal. His appointment comes as Andrew Ellison, the outgoing director, transitions to a new role within the university.
In response to his new role, Perales expressed optimism about the future of the Saint Ambrose Center, emphasizing the importance of supporting K-12 schools with various resources and services. Provost Vorwerk also expressed confidence in Perales, noting his leadership qualities and vision for expanding the reach of the center.
