After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, Walsh University's DeVille School of Business is thrilled to announce the return of the Business Club Scholarship Luncheon. This highly anticipated event, which is the largest and oldest student club at the University, will take place on Friday, April 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The 53rd Business Club Scholarship Luncheon will feature a keynote address by Michael Wheeler, President and Chief Legal Officer at Patriot Software. Wheeler, an expert in the field, will deliver remarkable insights into the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence (AI) and its ethical dimensions.

"We are incredibly excited to welcome Mr. Mike Wheeler, an expert and excellent speaker who will deliver remarkable insight into the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence,” said Business Club President Antonio Paganelli. “The Walsh University Business Club, along with all dedicated helpers, organizers, and members, is overjoyed to revive the Business Club Luncheon. This event is not only a celebration of our club's accomplishments over the past year but also a token of appreciation for our members, donors, and luncheon attendees. We are all really looking forward to sharing this remarkable occasion with everyone."

During his keynote address, Wheeler will draw from his rich professional background and share industry insights and personal anecdotes. He will highlight the importance of embracing ethical principles in the context of AI and how they can drive organizational success and foster sustainable growth.

Wheeler's journey from the factory basement to a leadership role at Patriot Software is a testament to perseverance and innovation. With over 18 years of experience, he has played a pivotal role in the company's growth trajectory, employing unconventional fundraising approaches and strategic investment initiatives.

The Business Club Scholarship Luncheon serves as a platform to recognize and reward academic excellence within the DeVille School of Business. Proceeds from the event directly contribute to student scholarships, empowering the next generation of business leaders to pursue their educational aspirations and make meaningful contributions to society.

"As one of the oldest and long-standing clubs on campus, we as faculty members are grateful for the opportunity to work with and advise the Business Club leaders in the DeVille School of Business. The level of energy and enthusiasm they bring for engaging in service activities, inviting community leaders as guest speakers, and being active in the local area and beyond is invigorating. They are excellent ambassadors for Walsh University,” said Dr. Phil Kim, Business Club Co-Advisor and Associate Professor.

“The student officers have spearheaded a dynamic reboot, orchestrating diverse opportunities such as hosting esteemed business leaders, organizing a Cavs analytics event, facilitating community service initiatives and crafting workshops to enhance professional development,” said Amanda Dalpiaz, Business Club Co-Advisor and Professional Instructor in Accounting. “The leadership team is also working diligently alongside staff in the Office of Philanthropy, Marketing, Alumni & Career Connections, and the event planning team to execute a successful Business Club Scholarship Luncheon. We are very proud of all their hard work and dedication to making the Business Club a success and offering several opportunities for members to connect with the business community.”

The Walsh University Business Club is a student-led organization that aims to foster servant leadership and provide experiential learning opportunities for students within the DeVille School of Business. By facilitating connections between the Walsh community and the broader business world, the club promotes integrated business approaches and advances student understanding of sustainable business strategies.
