More than 100 Catholic parishes, schools, and charitable ministries across the five-county region of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia are participating in #iGiveCatholic on December 2. The initiative is locally led by The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia in partnership with the Archdiocese. Since its launch in 2020, the campaign has raised over $7.4 million for Catholic organizations within the Archdiocese.

#iGiveCatholic is a national event held annually on GivingTuesday. Its goal is to foster a culture of philanthropy among Catholics in Philadelphia and help local parishes, schools, and ministries develop ongoing fundraising capacity.

Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia, expressed his appreciation for those who contribute to the campaign: “I am deeply grateful for the generosity of all who support #iGiveCatholic,” he said. “Your gifts make a tremendous and impactful difference in the lives of countless individuals throughout our local Church. They are your brothers and sisters in Christ and you are bringing them the compassionate love of our Lord. This day is a powerful reminder of the strength and unity of our Catholic community in Greater Philadelphia, along with the hope and help we share through giving.”

Ted Qualli, President and CEO of The Catholic Foundation, commented on the broader significance of the event: “Today is not just about fundraising—it’s about building up the Church, one act of generosity at a time. Every gift is a sign of hope and a testament to the power of our Catholic community.”

At 4:00 p.m. (EST), The Catholic Foundation will host an hour-long broadcast as part of the national #iGiveCatholic livestream. Archbishop Pérez will join Ted Qualli to open the program, which will include interviews with representatives from groups such as Young Catholic Professionals’ Philadelphia Chapter, the Archdiocesan Office for Catholic Education, Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, and Catholic Charities Appeal of Philadelphia.

A new feature this year allows participants to track volunteer hours during #iGiveCatholic. Some organizations may log volunteer activities during fundraising while others offer service opportunities for students, staff, or donors.

The Catholic Foundation describes itself as an independent nonprofit foundation focused on growing philanthropy based on Christian principles through fund management and development consulting services.
