The Archdiocese of Louisville announced on Apr. 20 that five pilgrimages will take place at the Monte Cassino Shrine in Saint Meinrad, Indiana, on Sundays throughout May to honor the Blessed Mother.

These pilgrimages are intended to foster Catholic spiritual development and community outreach, as well as provide opportunities for worship and reflection. The events are open to the public and will begin each Sunday at 2 p.m. Central Daylight Time.

Each pilgrimage service will start with an opening hymn and a short sermon, followed by a rosary procession. The services conclude with the Litany of the Blessed Virgin and a hymn. Benedictine Brothers from St. Meinrad Archabbey will deliver most of the sermons during these events.

Monte Cassino Shrine is located one mile east of St. Meinrad Archabbey on State Highway 62 in Saint Meinrad. For more information about these services, individuals can contact Krista Hall during business hours or call a designated number on event days.

The Archdiocese of Louisville promotes Catholic spiritual development and supports community outreach through its various ministries, according to the official website. It aligns with the Roman Catholic Church as an ecclesiastical territory according to its official website, provides pastoral care across central Kentucky covering multiple parishes according to its official website, maintains archives for historical research according to its official website, operates under guidance from the Archbishop along with consultative groups such as the College of Consultors and Pastoral Council according to its official website, and aims to spread the Gospel while advancing justice and compassion in communities according to its official website.

These upcoming pilgrimages reflect ongoing efforts by local Catholic institutions both to preserve tradition through regular worship opportunities and address broader goals like spiritual growth within their faith communities.
