Magnificat Morning Star Chapter to mark 30th anniversary with prayer meal in Lincoln

The Morning Star Chapter of Magnificat will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a spring prayer meal on March 21, featuring Bishop Emeritus Fabian Bruskewitz as the honored guest. The event is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the new Sacred Heart Parish Center, located at 3127 T St., Lincoln.

Magnificat is a ministry for Catholic women and operates as a private association of the faithful within the Catholic Church under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Lincoln. Women from other Christian denominations are also invited to attend the prayer meals. The chapter’s first prayer meal was held on March 9, 1996, after receiving approval from Bishop Bruskewitz.

The primary purpose of Magnificat is “to help Christian women become more open to the Holy Spirit through a deeper commitment of their lives to Jesus as Lord and to impart the Holy Spirit to one another by their love, service and sharing the good news of salvation.” Rosemary Clements, a resident of Lincoln, will present her testimony during the event, which will also include breakfast and praise and worship.
