On October 2, Kaleb Mitchell was ordained to the transitional diaconate at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. He was one of 16 seminarians from various dioceses across the United States who participated in the ceremony. This ordination is a significant step for seminarians preparing for priesthood, as those ordained as transitional deacons typically serve in this role for at least six months before becoming priests.

Kaleb Mitchell’s path to ordination included six years of study, starting at St. John Vianney Seminary in Denver and continuing with two years at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. Originally from Kalispell, he also attended Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, and worked as a camp counselor at Legendary Lodge.

The Diocese of Helena extended its congratulations to Deacon Kaleb and encouraged continued prayers for him and all seminarians.
