Single women aged 19 to 32 are invited to participate in a Holy Week Retreat for Young Women, organized by the Marian Sisters of the Diocese of Lincoln. The retreat will take place April 2-4 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly, starting on Holy Thursday at 6:15 p.m. and ending on Holy Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

The retreat is designed as a way for participants to engage with the final days of Lent and reflect on Christ’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection through meditation, silence, and communal prayer. Organizers say it encourages young women to “encounter Christ’s deep and personal love and to ask the Lord to form their hearts after His own: firm and merciful, attentive and generous, open to God’s call.”

The Marian Sisters were established in 1954. They follow a Franciscan Rule focused on “Do God’s will joyfully in imitation of Mary and Saint Francis.” The Sisters serve across the Diocese of Lincoln in roles that include teaching at Catholic schools and ministering at St. Gianna Women’s Homes, Villa Marie School, and diocesan offices.

Registration for the retreat costs $30 for students or $40 for adults. Registration is managed directly by the Marian Sisters. There is no virtual option; attendance is in person only. More information can be found at www.mariansisters.org or by contacting Sister Amy Marie, M.S., via email or phone.

The Diocese of Lincoln promotes adherence to Catholic traditions through communications and events (https://www.lincolndiocese.org/). It serves southern Nebraska with services that include support for vocations, family life programs, youth initiatives, catechesis, evangelization efforts, and charitable activities (https://www.lincolndiocese.org/). The diocese includes 134 parishes along with six educational institutions (https://www.lincolndiocese.org/) and aims to nurture active followers within its community.

Additional upcoming retreats at Our Lady of Good Counsel include “I AM” with Father Christopher Stoley from April 10-12; “Christianity and Creativity” with Dr. Jennifer Overkamp from April 17-19; “All or Nothing: Living every Moment for and with Christ” with Janette Howe from May 8-9; as well as a “Wild at Heart Retreat for Young Men” (ages 21-39) led by Deacon Matthew Hecker from May 15-17.
