Catholic community events in central Kentucky scheduled for April

A range of Catholic community events are planned across central Kentucky in April, according to an announcement on April 2. The schedule includes spiritual observances, volunteer opportunities, and social gatherings organized by parishes and organizations within the Archdiocese of Louisville.
These events provide opportunities for worship, service, and fellowship among Catholics in the region. They also reflect ongoing efforts to support faith development and address human needs through ministry activities.
Highlights include the Way of the Cross Justice Walk on April 3 in downtown Louisville beginning at 9 a.m., a Living Stations of the Cross presented by St. Bartholomew Church’s multicultural community later that day at 5 p.m., and Good Friday broadcasts from Mass of the Air on WBKI and WDRB. Other activities this month include Taizé prayer with the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, adoration nights at Holy Trinity Church, vocation-focused Holy Hours hosted by the St. Serra Club of Louisville, monthly sessions about religious life with the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, blood drives coordinated by the Red Cross throughout April, game nights for Catholic singles over 40 at Holy Trinity Church on April 9, bunco fundraisers at St. Francis Xavier Church Women’s Club on April 23, as well as classes and retreats offered both online and in person.
Volunteer roles are available through Catholic Charities’ Refugee Services team to help families adjust to new communities or assist with transportation to medical appointments. There is also a call for donations such as personal hygiene items and household cleaning supplies for clients served by Catholic Charities.
The Archdiocese supports these efforts as part of its broader mission to promote spiritual growth and compassion through ministries that reach out to diverse communities according to its official website. The archdiocese covers multiple parishes across central Kentucky where it provides pastoral care and sacramental services according to its official website.
The Archdiocese aligns itself with Roman Catholic tradition as an ecclesiastical territory under leadership structures including consultative groups like the College of Consultors according to its official website. It maintains archives safeguarding historical records from local institutions according to its official website.
By organizing these programs each month—ranging from worship services during holy days like Good Friday to support groups addressing grief or addiction—the Archdiocese continues work toward spreading faith values while advancing justice initiatives according to its official website.
