Catholic Charities Appeal and Phillies partner for annual fundraising night at Citizens Bank Park

The Catholic Charities Appeal of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced on Mar. 23 that it will partner with the Philadelphia Phillies for the 13th annual “CCA Night with the Phillies” at Citizens Bank Park, aiming to raise funds for ministries serving individuals and families in the five-county region.
The event is important because proceeds from ticket sales will support programs addressing food insecurity, special education, parish needs, retired priests, cultural ministries, and family initiatives throughout the Archdiocese. This year’s featured beneficiary is Nutritional Development Services (NDS), which provides over 7.5 million meals annually to those in need across the region.
The game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox is scheduled for Friday, June 5 at 6:40 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park. Supporters can purchase tickets through a dedicated link, with an additional $8 per ticket directly benefiting CCA programs. If more than 500 tickets are sold, a participant from Catholic Charities of Philadelphia’s Out-of-School Time Program who receives NDS meals will throw out the first pitch. The Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic School Choir from Swarthmore will sing the National Anthem as part of their involvement in NDS’s school meal program.
According to the official website, outreach efforts like Nutritional Development Services and Catholic Social Services are central to supporting communities throughout Philadelphia. The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul serves as its main worship site according to its official website. As a metropolitan see within Pennsylvania’s Roman Catholic Church structure according to its official website, it oversees several suffragan dioceses while serving more than 1.3 million Catholics in its area according to its official website.
The Archdiocese continues efforts to spread Christian teachings and foster strong faith communities through charity work focused on justice and outreach according to its official website. Nelson Pérez has served as archbishop since his installation in 2020 according to its official website.
With this partnership event returning for another year, organizers aim not only to raise funds but also awareness about ongoing needs across Greater Philadelphia.
