Archdiocese of Louisville plans Martin Luther King Jr. celebration for January 17

The Archdiocese of Louisville will hold its 40th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration on January 17 at the Cathedral of the Assumption, located at 433 S. Fifth St. The event begins at 10 a.m. and is open to the public without charge.
Father William Bowling will lead the prayer service, which aims to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy under the theme “Peace and Justice.” The program will include scripture readings, songs of praise performed by the Archdiocesan Gospel choir, and meditative readings.
According to organizers, “Attendees will be witness to prayer and praise — as led by Father William Bowling, the Archdiocesan Gospel choir, and others — through scripture, songs of praise and meditative readings.”
